Les Chouettes
The good French restaurant in the district : Les Chouettes
A brand new restaurant, therefore with a lot of advantages :
A contemporary light beautiful setting : just walk around but ask for the main room under the glass roof opposite the bar, or have dinner upstairs…
French style gourmet dishes : « Terrine de pot au feu » (pot roast terrine), « Œuf crémeux et asperges vertes » (creamy egg and green asparagus), « tartare de daurade et couteaux » (sea-bream tartare with shellfish), « Légumes croquants » (crunchy vegetables) as starters ; and a few examples of main courses : « Pavé de Maigre, poêlée de rattes et bulots » (thick cut fish, pan-fried young potatoes and common whelks) or « faux filet de Galice, héliantis et cresson » (beautiful sirloin steak with watercress) or « joue de cochon rôtie, carbonara de salsifis » (roasted pork cheek with salsify carbonara), just delicious…
The large quiet terrace overlooks le Carreau du Temple,
Prices are affordable : 10 to 15€ for starters, 20 to 30€ for main course.
A fine and refined typical French Cuisine, made with fresh seasonal products, reason why the menu is short, but everything is fresh and cooked the « Brasserie » way by a great star chef. Indeed the chef at les Chouettes worked in 2 stars restaurants before, the Georges V hotel, and the Laurent restaurant, Paris.
